Today
Today "Aviaavtomatika" team is a collective of high intelligence and professionalism, working under direction of Chief Designer of JSC "Pribor", Director of Design Bureau "Aviaavtomatika", State Prize Laureate, Honorary aircraft builder, Honoured designer of the Russian Federation V.V. Tarasov, successfully builds up competitive avionics systems. Since 1997 Design Bureau "Aviaavtomatika" of "Pribor" JSC is recognised as a leader of Russian avionics in the field of stores management systems; it is included in Scientific Manufacture Centre "Technocomplex". "Technocomplex" scientific and technical program is based on the open system building concept provided for "communication, modules and unification". In a short space of time using "Aviaavtomatika" experience the hardware unified SUO was created in the network of the "Technocomplex". The systems are used for upgraded aircraft of 4+ generation such as Su-30MKK and Su-30MKI. At the moment these systems are being produced serially and delivered to the customers. The research engineering carried out in the Design Bureau jointly with Ramenskoye Design Bureau RPKB, Technocomplex enterprises, and GosNIIAS relates to the avionics of aircraft of fifth generation, and, particularly, part of SUO in the integrated arrangement of mission control and place of SUO in avionics complex. The research engineering verifies the necessity of application of innovative technologies, integration and prototyping during the development of smart SUO intended for Russian combat aircraft of new generation. A new direction of the Design Bureau activity is flight data recorders. The combined crash and operational system for flight data recording and analysis named "KARAT" developed jointly with Russian Aircraft Building Company "MiG" (Moscow), GosNIIAS (Moscow), NPO "Pribor" (Saint-Petersburg), and Thales (France) integrate functions of a crash recorder and an airborne monitoring system. It meets the requirements of the International Standard TSO-124 and consists of up-to-date processor, transforming and interface modules what considerably increases reliability, validity, and depth of monitoring, and decreases weigh and dimensions. The system ensures reception, processing, and recording of the data coming from aircraft systems via digital and analogue data links into a solid-state recorder. The processing of flight data is carried out by on-ground system. At the moment the Design Bureau is developing the unified crash and operational system "Karat-B-NP". Due to its technical performances the system could be installed in any combat aircraft both modernised MiG-29M, MiG-29M2, Su-39, Su-27, Su-30, Yak-130, Ka-50, Ka-52, Ka-62 and perspective aircraft of 5th generation. KARAT-B-NP combines functions of a crash recorder, voice recorder, airborne automated monitoring system, and objective monitoring system. The system widens the number of analogue and digital links and converts the audio data coming via MIL-STD-1553Â. Check of the serviceability at all stages is ensured by built-in facilities. The level of the check is 0.95 without any additional test equipment. The system has hard and software reserves and could be adapted to extra targets (such as evaluation of airframe operational life, prediction of failures, etc). The technical and operational performances are at the level of the best foreign systems and exceed them in some parameters. The ground processing is carried out by the on-ground system "Karat-NP". KARAT-B-NP could interact with on-ground systems "Dozor", "Topaz-M", "Topaz-MK", and "NASK". By the beginning of 2002 "Aviaavtomatika" Design Bureau became ready for the development of its own protected memory module intended for recording of flight data in non-volatile memory and protected storage in case of a flight accident. Protected memory modules ZMP-K and ZMP-K-01 are intended to be installed in MiG-21-75-10, MiG-29, Su-25, Su-30, L-39, and Yak-130. They also could be employed in civil aviation, navy, and rail transport. For many years the Design Bureau carries out the research engineering of perspective subjects. The wide use of computer engineering in avionics design radically changed traditional operation of all departments.
The most important achievement of the Design Bureau for 45 years is its highly skilled team. During last years the Design Bureau completed its staff with young specialists. At one of meetings with the youth the Chief Designer V.V. Tarasov said:"…youth has got enthusiasm and revolutionary character, what is absolutely necessary in aeronautical engineering. And the equipment which is being developed for aircraft at the moment will be the most up-to-date with the help of the young people coming to us now". The Design Bureau works in close co-operation with Technocomplex enterprises, particularly the RPKB, aircraft building companies by Mikoyan, Sukhoi, Yakovlev, NAZ "Sokol", "Irkut", "KnAAPO", GosNIIAS, some Chinese, Indian, and French enterprises. The enterprise structure of the Design Bureau permits to make decisions on technical, economical, and manufacture questions. Nowadays the "Aviaavtomatika" has what to be proud of. Since 1990 the Design Bureau is a participant of the most prestige air shows in Le-Burge (France), Farnborough (UK), Zhukovsky (Russia), India, China, Germany. The International Air Show in Zhukovsky MAKS is special in this list. Since 1992 the Design Bureau "Aviaavtomatika" permanently displays at its expositions new products of advanced avionics. The expositions were awarded diplomas and in 2001 the Big Medal.
